Signing off
Well, a home draw at last!
Thanks for joining us for our coverage this afternoon, we hope you enjoyed it. A good home draw and a good chance of progression to round three. Here’s hoping this turns out to be a memorable Trophy campaign for the Blues.
Have a good day!
Confirmation of a home draw. Yes, a HOME draw!
The Blues will host Hungerford Town on Saturday, January 16.
So, who are Hungerford Town?
The Berkshire side currently ply their trade in the Evo-Stick Southern Premier Division and made their way through to round two of the FA Trophy following at 2-1 success at one of the famous old names of the English game, Corinthian Casuals.
They currently sit third in the league owing to some excellent home form. However, they haven’t been as impressive on their travels this term, losing four.
They do boast a formidable striker in their ranks in the form of ex-Cardiff City striker Nathanial Jarvis. The 24-year-old Welsh born Antigua & Barbuda international has 13 goals to his name so far this season and played in the 2012 FA Trophy final with Newport County.

It only took two years!
To get a home draw, not to wait for today’s. January 16, 2016 will see the two sides meet at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium. A good draw for the Blues.
Why are we waiting?
Just to confirm, the FA informed me that although the draw had been scheduled for 1pm, it would likely be beforehand, with 1pm the latest. Still waiting, though. Must be out for lunch.
While you wait
While your counting down the minutes until the draw, here’s our Chester FC 2015 quiz. Are you a Sam Hill or a Stuart Rimmer of Blues quizzes? Fingers on buzzers!

Burr on the Trophy
“We’ve just got used to playing away now! It would be nice to have a home tie and it’s a competition I’d like to do well in.

Shocks from round one
Solihull Moors are still in the hat after earning an impressive 1-1 draw at Grimsby Town on Saturday while Stourbridge will fancy their chances against National League opposition after beating Kidderminster Harriers 2-1.
So, what time is the draw?
While it has been rumoured to be at 1pm, FA competitions informed me this morning that it could take place any time between 12 and 1pm.
Ross wants Wembley trip
After his superb brace at the weekend, here’s what Ross Hannah had to say on a possible trip to Wembley in the Trophy with Chester.
Names in the hat
A few interesting ones who the Blues could be drawn against in round two. Here’s a selection...
Dulwich Hamlet
Hungerford Town
Nantwich Town
Truro City or Cirencester Town
Maidenhead United
Burscough or Guiseley
Wrexham
Havant & Waterlooville
Welcome!
Morning all.
The draw for the second round of the FA Trophy takes place at Wembley stadium today, with Chester FC hoping for a favourable home draw to boost their chances of progression in the competition.
The draw, unlike last season, is nationalised at the second round stage so the Blues, after their 2-0 win at AFC Telford United on Saturday, could be forced to travel as far as Truro.
The draw is set to be made between 12 noon and 1pm but we’ll be keeping you right up to date. Here goes!
