Cyclists are being urged to join a ride in aid of a charity that aims to fill a gap in palliative care for young adults.

The Cheshire Ride for Life NoW is being organised by a group of Chester supporters with approval from British Cycling.

Life NoW aims to build a centre to cater for young adults with life limiting conditions in the North West and North Wales.

Whilst children’s provisions are catered for by hospice care, there is only one centre in England providing specifically for the very different needs of young adults.

Two routes for this cycle sportive are planned, one of 70 miles and one of 40 miles. This non-competitive day is on Sunday, September 4 and starts at the Cheshire County Sports Club in Upton and is mainly on the scenic minor roads and lanes of west Cheshire.

Event co-ordinator John Lewis said; “The 70 mile ride should provide an enjoyable day tour, and the 40 mile ride is ideal for anyone who wants a more leisurely ride or is trying a sportive for the first time.”

Entry can be made by picking up a flyer from many local cycle shops and cafes, or online here.
