Frodsham-based theatre group The Zodiac are dancing their way back down the aisles of The Brindley in Runcorn with Boogie Nights the 70’s Musical.
The show starts on Tuesday, March 8 and runs until Saturday, March 12.
Directed by Kingsley resident Neil Silcock, the show tells the hilarious and heart-warming story of Roddy O’Neil, his friends, their lives, loves and experience of growing up in the DISCO decade.
Over thirty classic 70s hits are the backdrop to their story, including: We Are Family Celebration, YMCA, Disco Inferno, I Will Survive, Play The Funky Music, Boogie Wonderland, Enough Is Enough and many, many more!
Neil said: “My first disco experience I suppose would have been Frodsham Scout hut in the mid 70’s. When I became a little more wordly-wise it was the Mersey View on a Friday, Top Of The Town in Widnes &; The Blue Lagoon in Runcorn and my memories of these are what led to my inspiration for Boogie Nights. Although the original West End show, which starred EastEnders Shane Richie (who actually co-wrote this show) - locates the story to London, our Boogie Nights is rooted firmly in the North West - the true heart of disco and soul, as far as I am concerned.
We hope the audience have a delve into their wardrobes and pull out their flares and platforms - they won’t be out of place!”
