Students from Chester Stagecoach Theatre Arts School are on the professional stage this week at The Floral Pavilion in New Brighton.

The youngsters will perform alongside X Factor starr Joe McElderry in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

McElderry rose to fame after winning The X Factor and his since also won TVs The Jump and Pop Star to Opera Star.

Pupils from Stagecoach Chester have performed with the likes of Shane Ritchie, Marti Pellow, Elaine Paige, Darren Day, Tommy Steele and Keith Jacks and a recent success was Ben Robinson who played the role of Michael in Billy Elliot in the West End.

Katy Hall, Freya Watson and Emma Hall played the parts of Young Fiona and Young Shrek in the recent touring production of Shrek The Musical.

Stagecoach will be hosting a summer workshop at Bishops’ Blue Coat CE High School in Boughton during the first three weeks of August. This year’s projects are Wind in the Willows and Summer Holiday, directed by Phillip Cross, children’s choreographer for The Lion King and Oliver in the West End.
