Multi-award winning guitarist, singer/songwriter and British Blues Hall of Famer, Matt Schofield, returns to the UK to embark on his largest headlining tour since dazzling audiences nationwide last year as Joe Satriani’s special guest.

He comes to The Live Rooms in Chester on Tuesday, November 18 with special guests The Ben Poole Band.

The UK tour follows Schofield’s critically acclaimed fifth studio album, Far As I Can See.

Over the last decade Schofield has earned a formidable international reputation as one of the most innovative and revered contemporary blues inspired guitarists on the world stage today.

He has taken his music to nearly two dozen countries and has played on some of the most prestigious stages in the world, including the North Sea and Montreal Jazz Festivals, and as a regular featured artist at the annual Allman Brothers Band family of festivals including Wanee, Peachfest and Mountain Jam.

Matt returns to the UK after extensive North American and European summer touring - a result of the ever increasing demand for his distinctive approach to contemporary guitar music across the globe.

In addition to five studio albums, Schofield has released four live albums.

He is the proud recipient of awards including the British Blues Awards Guitarist of the Year 2010, 2011 and 2012 (making him the first guitarist in the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame), Mojo magazine’s Blues Album of the Year 2011, and British Blues Awards Album of the Year 2010.

Just a couple of years into his solo career Schofield was rated in the top ten British blues guitarists of all time by Guitar and Bass Magazine alongside Eric Clapton and Peter Green and in the Penguin Book of Blues Recordings as one of only two living British artists to receive a four-star rating.

Tickets for his Chester gig are £17.50. Call 01244 317171 or visit .
