One of Chester’s most popular pubs has got some familiar faces back behind the bar.
Adam Roberts and Andrew Atkinson – known as Aki - were previously at the helm of The Bridge Inn in Boughton from 2003 to 2011, before Adam sold the pub.
After leaving the Tarvin Road hostelry, the duo opened the two-time CAMRA winning The Cellar on City Road, which was also voted Chester’s pub of the year in 2014, and again in 2015 but have now decided to return to where it all began.
“The Bridge Inn is a special place with a special place in our hearts,” said Adam. “We had great fun there last time we were in charge, before we decided to try a new challenge. But when the chance came to take over the pub again, we jumped at it.”
The pair will continue to run The Cellar Bar as well as The Bridge Inn where Adam will be the pub landlord and manager while Aki will look after the cellar and drinks.
As well as serving a varied selection of real ales, there is a strong emphasis on good quality pub grub at the venue. Wednesdays are burger nights, while Friday’s free bottle of wine with two steaks are proving popular. Sunday roasts are also available. There’s also regular entertainment on tap, including acoustic music sessions every Tuesday.
“We’re hoping to create one of the most-friendly places to go in Chester with a great atmosphere. Everyone’s welcome to come and have a drink or a bite to eat, watch the football on the big screen or join us for a quiz night,” added Adam.
