The final event in Chester Music Society’s Celebrity Concert season is on Wednesday, March 12 at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Centre.
It sees the welcome return of the UK’s best-known clarinettist Emma Johnson, one of the few to have established a busy solo career which has taken her to major European, American and Asian venues as well as to Africa and Australasia.
She will be accompanied on the piano by John Lenehan, recognised as one of the leading accompanists and chamber musicians of today.
They will play the Brahms Clarinet sonata Op 120 No 2.
The first of these late Brahms sonatas will be played on viola by Sarah-Jane Bradley, who made her Wigmore Hall debut in 1997.
And the three artists will also play trios by Mozart and Bruch.
There are just a few unreserved seats left at £12 which are available from 01244 381 995.
There is free parking in Castle Square.
