ELLESMERE PORT bid to put their name on the Thwaites Cheshire Plate for the first time on Sunday.
The final is being played at Stockport's Bridge Lane Memorial ground on Sunday and Crewe and Nantwich will provide the opposition in a game kicking off at 3pm.
Both clubs play in South Lancashire/Cheshire Two League with the combined side currently in third place in the table having enjoyed the better results to date.
When the sides met in the league in November there was only a point in it with Crewe getting home 16-15. The return fixture is not until April 17.
Crewe and Nantwich have lifted the cup once in its 23-year history, in the 1995/96 campaign.
The final of the Wirral Floodlit Cup involving Wallasey and Port Sunlight has been confirmed for Friday April 23 at New Brighton with a 7.30pm kick-off.
Meanwhile the Northern group of the Under 20 County Championship will be decided this Sunday with Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire vying for top spot.
Unbeaten Yorkshire are the favourites. They meet Cheshire, beaten once, at Macclesfield (2.15pm).
There is precious little local rugby planned for the coming weekend when the international scene reaches a climax although West Park will visit Vale of Lune in the semi-final of the Lancashire Cup on Sunday in what promises to be a close contest.
