MOTORSPORT: THE Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), the best-known saloon car racing series in the world, will arrive at Oulton Park on May 22 and 23.

And you could be there to experience the action as we've got six pairs of tickets to give away!

Drawing huge race crowds, the BTCC has earned a reputation for creating some of motor sport's biggest star names - down the years it has even been contested by Formula One greats such as Graham Hill and Jim Clark (a BTCC champion in 1964) and, more recently, Nigel Mansell.

The BTCC can certainly lay claim to being one of the UK's biggest and most spectacular sporting events, featuring some of the fastest drivers in the country battling wheel-to-wheel in high-performance versions of everyday road cars.

The cars retain the shape of their mass-production counterparts but are bona fide racing machines.

The engines generate over 270 brake horsepower from a maximum two-litre engine capacity, and the cars accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a staggering 4.6 seconds. Regulations require that certain components, including gearboxes, brakes and clutches, are standard to all competitors.

This levels out performance between cars and generates exciting racing - something that is further achieved with a system of weight handicapping for successful drivers and reversing of grid positions for some races.

Official manufacturer entries from Honda, MG, Proton, SEAT and Vauxhall will be on the grid, while privateer teams will also be running cars from these and other makes, including Alfa Romeo, BMW and Peugeot.
