A TRIO of Crewe Flyers did the club proud at the national finals.
Elliot Bloor finished fifth in 100m butterfly, 30th in the 400m freestyle, 17th in the 200m freestyle and 16th in the 100m freestyle, at the National Age Group Championships in Sheffield.
Charlotte Bradbury bagged 6th in the 200m breaststroke, while Bethany Mayer finished 20th in the 200m Backstroke despite feeling unwell just before the race. A club spokesperson said: 'We are very proud of them.'
Meanwhile, the Flyers finished second out of eight clubs at the Biddulph Open. More than 110 events were contested by 27 swimmers, with 40 podium finishes and 82 final places a chieved.
Gold's went to Elliot Bloor (2), Charlotte Bradbury, Bryony Carragher (2), Mike Eastwood (2), Colette Foster and Charlotte Rowlands (3).
Silvers were won by Eleanor Bloor (2), Charlotte Bradbury, Bryony Carragher, Mike Eastwood (3), Colette Foster (3), Daniel Mears, Charlotte Rowlands and Rebecca Small.
Bronze medals were was snatched by Abi Axon (2), Austin Barton (3), Dale Barton (2), Eleanor Bloor (2), Charlotte Bradbury, James Briscoe (3), Mitchell Crank, Colette Foster, Charlotte Rowlands and Sarah Owen.
Other top performances were put in by: Paige Bradbury, Daniel Carragher, Devon Coiley, Steph Eastwood, Gracie Farr, Bradley Hindbest, Rhian Jones, Jason Owen, Christopher Potts, Anthony Ryan, Ryan Thorley and Shannon We bb. n Efforts are being made to track down a Crewe woman who was part of a well known cross-channel swimming group 40 years ago.
Linda Hayes was part of the 'Swim Kids' team, all aged 13 and 14, that made daring swims across the English Channel and Irish Sea in 1967.
