RUNNING: RUNNERS from Vale Royal Athletic Club represented Cheshire at an inter-counties cross-country event at Nottingham on Saturday.
Featured live on Sky TV, John Telford, Siobhan Tarbuck, Becky Ellis, Rachel Clews, Lorna Timms, Stevie Stockton and Andrew Clews all took part in the huge event at Wollaton Park.
Coppenhall High School Stockton, 15, was again the club's star performer in the girls U17 race, coming 21st out of more than 400 runners, many of whom were up to two years older. Meanwhile Telford, of Sandbach, got his first county vest at the age of 45. Stockton and Ellis will run for Cheshire at the English Schools Finals at Norwich on Saturday. nSouth Cheshire Harriers Colin and Gael Earp represented the club at the Ostend to Bruge 10-mile run in Belgium on Saturday. Closer to home, Mike Cutler took part in the Standish Hall 10km race, at Wigan.
On Sunday, the everactive Cutler competed in the Cheadle Spring Five Male Race, along with Rob Bronson and Victoria High School pupil Dan Aston.
And he made the dash to compete in the Farndon Good Shepherd 10km race at Wrexham, along with Martin Stirna and Cindy Morrissette on the same day.
