ST Werburgh’s United were held to a home draw by Broughton Wings A in an exciting Chester League Olympic Trophies Division clash.
Colin Jones got the hosts off to a good start with a win over Steve Mountain.
Mike Griffiths then beat Paul Hughes to put Saints 2-0 up. Wings roared back as Simon Moulton defeated Dave Sharpe 60-4 and James Coe overcame Carl Leeming 81-27 to make it 2-2.
Russell Jones then put Wings ahead with a win over Roy Baker, but Danny Hammond levelled the match by beating Craig Formstone on the black ball.
Christleton B took another step closer to winning the title with a 6-0 victory over Upton RBL A, while Conservative A ended second-placed St Saviour’s unbeaten record. The visiting Cons side came away with a 4-1 win.
United Services came back from 2-0 down to beat St Theresa’s.
Pat Cooney defeated Martin Walsh and Chris Earl comfortably beat Tony McKevitt. Veteran Harry Wah got the better of Ray Cheers (Jnr) and Anthony Courtney levelled the match at 2-2 with his black ball win over Alan Cheers. Paul Lewis beat Lol Johnson and Geoff Cadogan defeated Ray Cheers to give the win to Services.
Conservative B earned themselves a good victory over Snooker Centre. They raced into a 3-0 lead with Pat Fergus, Terry Milner and Mike Davies all winning. Mark Hughes pulled a frame back for Snooker Centre but Mike Fisher clinched the success for Cons. Kevin Green defeated Shawn Davies in a very close game to make the final score 4-2 to the Cons.
