HOCKEY: TITLE-CHASING Runcorn welcomed the break from the pressure of league hockey and sharpened up with a resounding friendly win.

After breaking from defence, Runcorn opened the scoring and they added a second goal before half-time for a 2-0 lead.
The second half saw Runcorn dictate.
They experimented with short corners, which were quickly perfected and Bowdon could do little to turn the tide.
