HOCKEY: DEESIDE Ramblers went into their match at Leeds University with only nine players but put up an excellent fight before going down 6-3.
Leeds were so well held at bay that they did not open the scoring until late in the first half.
Deeside's Phil Johnson weighed in with two goals but they were bettered by a masterful finish from Graham Allwood.

Deeside's third string were involved in an clash at Bolton that ended in a 3-2 defeat for the visitors. The Lancastrians were 2-0 up by half time but Ramblers levelled matters after the break through goals from Phil Brown and Mike Cooper, only to concede again.
Deeside's fifth team lost 2-0 to City of Manchester, who scored both goals in the first 15 minutes.
The sixths lost 2-1, also to City of Manchester, despite a solo strike from Jamie Allen.
Ramblers Beavers recorded a convincing 2-1 victory over Bowdon. They took an early lead when Anna Sarstadt put away a smart chance. Jonny Verity scored Ramblers' second goal.
