SANDBACH racing drivers Jonathan and David Shepherd are gearing up for the biggest race of their careers this weekend.
More than 100,000 spectators are expected at Donington Park for the World Series by Renault. The ELF Renault Clio Cup, in which the father and son duo compete, is on the support bill.
Dad Jonathan said: 'This season has been tough at times but packed with exciting racing, which I've really enjoyed. World Series looks like being a huge weekend and it's great to be a part of it.'
Son David added: 'We raced at Donington Park earlier in the season and I finished in the points, so that's definitely a realistic goal. My aim is still to finish on the podium and although it will be hard work, there would be no better time to do it than at the World Series.'
The Clio Cup is renowned for producing wheel-to-wheel action and superb entertainment for fans. All the cars are identical and changes to the car's technical set-up are limited to prevent teams with larger budgets gaining an advantage over privateers.
