JENNY Tinmouth has paid her respects to the three riders who lost their lives on a sad weekend for the motorcycling community.

Chester-born Tinmouth, 33, was reacting to the deaths of Ben Gautrey, Wayne Hamilton and Adrian McFarland.

Tinmouth, the first female racer to compete in the British Superbike Championship, said on her Twitter page: “Back home from Cadwell, feeling quite sombre, thoughts are with the family and friends of Ben Gautrey, Wayne Hamilton and Adrian McFarland.”

Hamilton, 20, from Portadown in Northern Ireland, was killed in an accident during the Junior Manx Grand Prix in the Isle of Man on Monday.

McFarland, 41, from Plumbridge near Omagh in Northern Ireland, died on Saturday after crashing in a race in the Czech Republic.

Gautrey, 18, from Southport, died after a collision on the first lap of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 race at Cadwell Park on Monday.

Tinmouth was also in action at the Lincolnshire track, finishing 25th in her first Fuchs-Silkolene Supersport outing before failing to finish her second.

Howie Mainwaring, 24, from Frodsham, slipped one place to fourth in the Metzeler National Superstock 1,000 standings after finishing seventh in his race at Cadwell.
