MOTORSPORT: Winsford motor cycle racer Dave Mitchell made a tremendous start to the EMRA 125cc Championship on Saturday.
Despite starting the four races on the back row, he picked up a fourth place and celebrated a victory in terrible conditions at Mallory Park.
He is now second overall and still 'over the moon'.
'I was jumping up and down in the paddock.Iwas likealittleboy,'said39-year-old Mitchell, of Chester Road.
There are six rounds in the East Midlands racing Association championship with the next being back at Mallory on April 4.
'I am just after that title,' said Mitchell, who rides a Honda RS and was third overall last year. But he has also invested in a 600cc bike.
'I want to compete in other races occasionally and increase my knowledge of other tracks, especially Oulton Park,' he said.
Mitchell is sponsored by Wharton haulage company CIR.
