SQUASH: WITH several key players still missing through injuries, Crewe Vagrants' teams struggled again in Thursday's North West League matches.

The firsts lost 3-2 to Northern seconds, despite good wins by Nathan Langley and Simon Walton, but still gained enough points to hold on to sixth spot. This week they face a tough task at league leaders Congleton.

The second team won 3-2 at Wilmslow firsts to hold their third place in the league.

Matt Shaw, Pat Bevan and Mark Ormerod were all successful.

The thirds lost 4-1 at Alsager seconds, with Mike Edwards the only winner at number one, while the fourth team lost 4-1 at home to Club AP firsts, with Dave Platt being the lone winner. Vagrants would like to thank Mick Crimes from Willaston Fish Bar for his kindness in sponsoring new shirts for the first team and for his continued interest in the team's progress.
