THIS year's Shell Chester Half Marathon is almost fully booked.
The popular event will be held on Sunday, May 20 and those making a final call for entries included Rachel Strefford from sponsors Shell UK and Joe Shelhorn and Dennis Wall, president and chairman of West Cheshire AC, which promotes the event with Chester City Council.
Also on hand was city council sports development officer Ian Tordoff and Mick Hughes from nominated charity Miles of Smiles, which is supported by The Pioneer.
Entries for the event, which starts at the Old Dee Bridge and finishes at Chester Racecourse, are £11 for club members and £13 for unattached runners.
Entries are limited to 2,600 and there are no entries on the day.
There is a £100 bonus for new course records and all runners receive a free race T-shirt.
There is also a one mile family fun run - entry on the day only at £2.
