VAUXHALL Motors step up their pre-season preparations tonight (July 22) with a visit from League One’s Stockport County.
Hatters boss Gary Ablett will field a strong side at Rivacre Park, so Motors can expect a stern test.
Kick-off is 7.15pm and admission is £6 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for under 16s. U10s get in free.
Vauxhall have won one and lost one of their summer friendlies.
After going down 5-1 to a Blackburn Rovers XI last Tuesday, they bounced back on Saturday by beating AFC Liverpool 3-2.
The match had to be played on the neighbouring ‘outside’ pitch at Rivacre Park because the main pitch was waterlogged.
Motors forged into a 3-0 lead, given to them by goals from Josh Hine (2) and sub Michael Burke.
Boss Carl Macauley made numerous changes in the second half to run and rule over a number of trialists. With the game won, Liverpool hit back with a brace of consolation goals in the final 10 minutes.
Motors were due to play Caernarfon Town at the North Wales club’s Oval ground this Saturday, but that fixture has now been switched to Rivacre Park (3pm).
Wrexham then visit Rivacre on Tuesday (July 28, 7.30pm).
