There is always plenty going on in and around the Chester area, so every week we be bring you this handy guide to when and where you can see sporting events in the city.

Here are three events you can catch this weekend.

1) Airbus UK Broughton v Bala Town; Hollingsworth Group Stadium; Friday, November 6 (7.30pm)

You can start your sporting weekend early by taking in this Welsh Premier League battle. The Wingmakers have a lengthy injury list but won last time out at Carmarthen Town. They will need to be at their best to see off second-placed Bala.

2) Stage Rally and Fireworks; Oulton Park; Saturday, November 7 (first race: 9am)

The Motorsport News Rally Championship gets under way in Cheshire this weekend, with cars tackling a series of bespoke rally stages. Once the racing finishes and darkness falls, spectators will be treated to a fireworks display.

3) Chester RUFC v Leicester Lions; Hare Lane; Saturday, November 7 (2.15pm)

Jon Aby's men return to action following a weekend off by facing the fifth-placed Lions. Chester, eighth in National League Two North, will be looking to improve on a home record which has seen them win just once in four attempts in the league this season.

4) Deeside Dragons v Widnes Wild; Deeside Ice Rink, Queensferry; Saturday, November 7 (7pm)

It's second versus third in the Laidler Conference on Saturday as Widnes step into the Dragons' den. Clashes between these sides are usually pretty fiery affairs and, with this being Deeside's first home game in more than a month, a big crowd is expected.

5) Cheshire Phoenix v Leeds Force; Cheshire Oaks Arena, Ellesmere Port; Sunday, November 8 (5.30pm)

With Leeds Force struggling near the foot of the British Basketball League table, this looks to be the perfect opportunity for the Nix to chalk up a first league win at their new home court. It's never that easy, of course, but maybe new signing Jorge Ebanks will give the Nix the added firepower they need.
