But his team went down 7-2 to third-placed Navvy Lads and they are still looking for their first points.

Friday's first-round matches in the Todger Jones Cup produced several surprises with no fewer than six teams accounting for higher-graded opponents.
In some cases this was attributable to a shortage of players.
Steve Jackson was man-of-the-match for RNA. Playing as anchor man, he had to beat two opponents to steer his team into the next round of the competition.
Albion's Paul Melia and Jim Reed produced the quickest game of the night - a 19-darter - in a 3-2 win over Tricorn, for whom Steve Roberts finished on 116.
Best finish of the night, however, was Royal Oak player Jim Getty's 140.
