ANASTASIA Dobromyslova failed to become the first woman to qualify for the knockout stages of the Grand Slam of Darts after she was beaten 5-2 by former BDO world champion Mark Webster.
Welshman Webster looked as if he would become the Ellesmere Port-based Russian’s second victim yesterday evening in Wolverhampton after she came from behind to beat Vincent van der Voort on Sunday night.
But despite winning the first leg and going 2-1 up, Anastasia couldn’t hold her lead and Webster eased through as the second qualifier.
Earlier in the week Anastasia had lost her opening match 5-0 to group winner Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor.
Afterwards Anastasia said: “I tried my best but it wasn’t good enough this time.
“I didn’t have enough left after beating Vincent.”
