CREWE and Nantwich AC pulled off a superb double triumph to be crowned North West champions on Sunday.
The Cumberland Arena outfit's U11 boys and girls teams saw off the might of teams from Liverpool and Stockport to lift their respective titles at the North West Sportshall Athletics League Finals held at Robin Park, Wigan.
The achievement of a double in one age group is thought to be a first in the event's 15-year history. And the club celebrated again as the U13 girls came third in their group.
Chairman Stephen Matthews said: 'These were superb performances by our borough's athletes. They really worked as one big team to take on the best in the region.
'The standard of North West sports-hall is exceptionally high and the team managers, coaches and parents of the athletes at the club are so pleased all the hard work has paid off.'
The U11 boys team was: Fraser Ashman, Henry Blundell, Jack Bohannan, Cohen Bramall, Josh Dale, Robert Dixon, George Fleet, Robert Poole and Tomas Saint.
The U11 girls team included: Alice Cantwell-Browne, Molly Chatwin, Charlotte Curry, Kelly Forster, Emily Hollinshead, Jess Hollinshead, Heidi Jackson, Beth Latham, Katie Lennon, Katie Matthews, Emily Townsend and Gemma Valentine.
The U13 girls, who were narrowly beaten by West Cheshire and Liverpool, were: Jade Bramall, Eleanor Cresswell, Emily Davies, Lisa James, Hannah Mulliner, Amelia Pettitt, Kayleigh Saunders, Jessica Tossell.
