WEST Cheshire AC grabbed glory at the North West Sportshall League Final.

The event was staged at Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes, and saw teams from across the region compete at six different age-group levels.

West Cheshire’s under-15 boys squad of James McMahon, Matthew Pagan, Cameron Weaver, Chris Harrop and Zac Barnsley combined to earn top spot in the team competition.

Harrop won the six lap race and Weaver was runner-up, while Barnsley won the two lap final and standing triple jump and Pagan won the four lap final. McMahon won the vertical jump and shot put titles and was second in the four lap. Harrop, McMahon, Pagan and Barnsley then triumphed in the 4x2 lap relay.

Emily Ball, Samhilda McGonigle, Georgia Barlow, Sophie Carter, Victoria Smith, and Vanessa Ozeemelam combined for the U15 girls team.

Ball won the standing long jump and shot put titles, and was second in the two lap final, while Barlow took gold in the four lap and finished second in the standing triple jump, and Ozeemelam was second in the vertical jump.

Sophie Hemingbrough, Abbie Williams, Beth McMahon, Alice Barnsley and Emma Howe teamed up for West Cheshire’s U13 girls squad.

Barnsley won the two lap, was third in the standing triple jump and third in the standing long jump, and Hemingbrough was second in the six lap.

Taylor Kearns, Jac Goodall, Ewan Brandon, Ethan Milligan, Jack Jones, Tom Harrop, Mitchel Collins and Joseph Morrison represented West Cheshire’s U13 boys.

Goodall and Kearns finished second and third respectively in the shot put.

Tamsin O’Keefe, Anna Crayston, Holly Worthington, Jess Hall, Neve Darlington, Molly Jones, Hollie Jones, Emma Ashcroft, Abbie Shaw, Lauren Jones, Gemma Davies and Ellie Finn lined up for the U11 girls.

Will Scott, Ewan Bradley, Michael Ozeemelam, Edward Griffiths, Adam Howe, Tom Weaver, Dan Pagan, Ben Lepper, Paul Morrison, Nathan Partington, Callum Brunskill and Liam Farrell competed for West Cheshire’s U11 boys.

Kate Jayden leads the West Cheshire AC endurance points competition for women.

Jayden competed in the Quadzillar four day marathon event at Milton Keynes, which comprised a trail race at the marathon distance on each of four consecutive days.

She successfully completed the events and set a significant personal best on the first day of four hours 47 minutes 58 seconds for the marathon distance and completed the quartet on the fourth day with a time of 6:19:56.
