A YOUNG swimmer from Runcorn achieved success in a swimathon held at Brookvale Recreation Centre on Sunday.
Anna Johnson, 10, swam 5km in a sponsored swimathon which saw her raise more than £300 for Marie Curie Cancer.
Anna has been a member of the Runcorn Reps swimming club for 12 months, training at least three times a week, but has never attempted to swim such a distance before.
Anna swam the distance in under two hours and was the only child who swam the whole 5km along with two adults.
Mrs Pat Johnson said: 'I am very proud of her especially as she is so young. Not many people could swim all that at any age.
'She is a bit sore today though, but she loves swimming and is really happy she swam so far.'
