CHESTER Nomads got off to a strong start against Castrol Athletic, but the visitors came back from 4-0 down to seal a 4-4 thriller.
Tom Chrimes got the first two goals early in the first half for Nomads. Sam Roscoe got a third and, shortly before half time, got a great goal with a cracking volley into the corner.
The second half was a different affair as Castrol fought back from 4-0 down to level the game.
Chester Nomads Colts fell 3-0 at home to Waverton Wasps. Waverton put early pressure on the Colts goal, but their defence looked comfortable, with man of the match Jordan Massey covering well.
Sam Jones, MoM for Waverton, opened the scoring after 15 minutes and Matt Simpson recorded the second just before the break. Early in the second half Alex Wilkinson put away a penalty to make it 3-0.
Westminster Park Lions fired 10 past Saughall Colts without reply. After hitting the post in the fifth minute,ŠLeon Langmead turned provider when his corner enabled Alex Halliwell-Dykes to open the scoring at close range. Chris McCartney, Jordan Stevens, MoM Langmead, Alex Smith, Joseph Speed and Adam Thomson also found the net. Colts’ MoM was keeper Phillip Luff.
Princess Villa Colts also fell victim to Westminster Park, this time the Panthers, who won 3-1. Sean Brown and Liam Plevin scored early on and Jay Gilmartin made it three before Callum Saville replied for VillaŠ.
In the U12s division, Malpas & District slipped to a 10-1 home defeat to Park Saints. MoM Yuseph Bakir, Joe Williams, Nathan Price, Lewis Jennings, Stuart Austin, Martyn Lloyd and Matty Roberts did the damage.
Waverton and Castrol Celtic played out a tense 0-0 draw. Cameron Noyes, Jack Gittins. Matt McClelland and Matt Hulse all came close for Waverton but the outstanding Celtic defence held firm to the whistle for a deserved share of the spoils.
Upton Blues travelled to Castrol Athletic and won 4-1.
Castrol took the lead after 10 minutes but Upton bagged an equaliser five minutes before half-time when Thomas Messham ran on to a Ben Roycroft through-ball to chip the keeper.
Upton then took control in the second half and scored two goals from beautiful crosses from the left, with Forrest Darke (2)Šfinishing on both occasions.
Josh Wimpenny capped a MoM performance by popping up on the right-hand side to curl a great shot past Castrol‘s keeper to complete the win.
