BLUES boss Mark Wright conceded that Sunday's derby at Wrexham would not live long in the memory.

The 0-0 stalemate extended Chester's unbeaten away run in League Two to six matches, but there was little to shout about for City's 1,775-strong away following as both teams cancelled each other out.

Wright said: 'It was a fair result. They had one chance first half, we had one second half and that was it.

'The players got a talking to at half-time and we squeezed that extra 10 to 15 yards forward and dictated the game.

'We put them under pressure, took the game to them and, really, if I'm being honest, we could have won the game. But I think the draw was a fair result. It was a bore draw.'

Assistant boss Graham Barrow admitted that the Blues had been below par.

'They matched us up and there's a tinge of disappointment because I think the opportunity was there for us to go and win it,' he said. 'But it's another away result and we've not let anybody down with the effort. A bit more application and thought would have seen us get the three points.

'I just thought it wasn't our usual away performance, was it?'

Dragons boss Brian Carey was content with a share of the spoils.

The Irishman said: 'I thought it was an improvement on the last two performances. It was there for us in the first half but we fell into the trap a little bit in the second half, conceding too many free kicks and inviting pressure back on us.

'But overall it was a decent performance.

'Possibly we should have scored but it didn't come and the first goal was always going to change it, but it didn't come and we've ended up with a 0-0 draw.'
