SHAUN MORGAN was the proudest Liverpool fan inside the Rogers Centre on Saturday after seeing his son Adam earn the club a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC.
The lifelong Kopite from Halewood surprised the young Academy starlet by arriving in Canada on the eve of the game and the emotion of seeing the 18-year-old’s first senior goal was etched across his face.
“It’s just unbelievable,” said Morgan senior. “Our family are all Reds through and through. We’ve been everywhere following Liverpool and to see Adam playing for the first team, to see his name on the back of that shirt, is just brilliant.
“On Thursday night I wasn’t even coming out here. But my mate who has his own company turned up and asked if I fancied it.
“I told him I couldn’t afford it but he said it was all booked and I only needed spending money so I jumped on a plane without even telling Adam.
“When I got to the team hotel I asked Robbie Fowler to go up to his room and bring him down and he started crying when he saw me. When he scored I was crying myself.
“This is just the beginning for Adam and he’s got a long way to go but I won’t forget this day in a hurry.”
