BLUES fans have given Friday night football the thumbs-up!
The majority of those who voted in our online poll at www.iccheshireonline.co.uk were in favour of ditching the traditional Saturday afternoon kick-off time.
City chairman Stephen Vaughan promised to look into the possibility of playing more Friday night football after more than 4,300 fans attended the 3-2 defeat to Rochdale on October 7.
In our online poll, 75% fans voted in favour of playing on Fridays, while 13.10% said 'no' and 11.90% said only local derbies should be moved from a Saturday.
Fans also had their say on our message board, with 'Chris R' from Chester saying: 'I'm all for it as the crowds will always be bigger as there's no competition from Premiership big boys locally. I can see the arguments from the Chester Exiles and families, but it's something we should have done years ago!'
'London Calling' from London said: 'Some of the young families may suffer in that they can't go to all the home games, but better to have a club to watch than risk the club folding due to debts and falling gates.'
Nick, from Vicars Cross, added: 'Friday night should now be footy night at the Deva Stadium. We will soon be getting gates big enough for promotion to League One.'
