Vauxhall Motors 0AFC Telford Utd 1
VAUXHALL suffered their second defeat in a matter of four days, failing to score against a determined Telford in front of a 377-strong crowd.
It was the visitors who took an early lead through Andy Brown, shortly after they had their goalkeeper Ryan Young sent off for handling the ball outside of the area.
Vauxhall will count themselves unlucky not to have scored at least once as either Tom Grice or Brian Moogan could have scored straight after the Telford goal on 32 minutes, while Obi Anoruo looked certain to score minutes later, only for Liam Murray to pull off a great last-ditch tackle.
Goalkeeping replacement Daniel Platt made a wonder save to deny Anoruo in the second half with Josh Wilson also coming close.
Vauxhall: Tynan, Noone, Dames, Marsh-Evans, Taylor, Smith, Wilson, Moogan, Grice, Prince, Anoruo. Subs: Wright, Mboa, Egerton.
The Motormen lost 2-1 to Ilkeston Town on Saturday, as an early lead was quickly erased.
Last week also saw the departure of Karl Noon to Colwyn Bay and keeper James Coates to Altrincham.
The Motormen’s next game is at Rivacre Park this Saturday against Worcester City (kick-off 3pm).
