CHESTER FC's Cheshire Senior Cup clash at home to Stockport Sports has been rearranged.

It will now take place on Wednesday, January 23 (7.45pm kick-off).

The second-round tie was supposed to take place last night (January 15).

But it was called off as it was feared the drop in temperatures - which later plunged below zero - would make the playing surface dangerous.

After the postponement was announced yesterday morning, the club's protective frost covers were laid down.

The deployment of the covers means Chester officials are confident Saturday's league game at home to Stalybridge Celtic will go ahead.
