BOUGHTON claimed the first place in the final of the Aldford Glass Cup after defeating Bulls Head 5-2 on Sunday.
Ian Jones and Dave Tills gave travelling Boughton a 2-1 half-time lead, Gavin Smith keeping the Bulls in the running. But in the second half Lennox Beddows and Lee Highfield were among the goals as Boughton stretched their lead. Lee Smith pulled a goal back for the Bulls.
Dee Miller overcame Vicars Cross Dynamos 2-1 to book a semi-final spot in the same competition. Danny Andrews scored for home side Miller to take the game into extra time at 1-1. Vicars Cross had a penalty saved before conceding from a Simon Andrews spot-kick late on.
In Section A, Adam Crimes scored a hat-trick for Tarvin Rex as they beat Watergate 4-1. Gordon Piggin also scored for Tarvin while Danny Stevenson pulled one back for the home side.
In Section B, Corner Pin's veteran striker Kev Langton scored to earn his side a 1-0 win over Waverton.
Dee Rangers were saved by a Mike Jeffs double as St Werburgh's ran the table-toppers close. The game ended 3-2 to Rangers with Rob Kennedy opening the scoring for them. Graham Allen and Kev Lloyd scored to ensure Rangers didn't run away with it Stanley Arms came close to launching a bid for survival as they drew 2-2 with Blacon Orient.
Fourth-placed Orient took a two-goal first half lead courtesy of Louis Mackin and Jordan Sharpe, but bottom club Stanley hit back through James Thompson and Ian Cuthbertson.
Upton YC beat hosts Chester City ISA 1-0. In Section C, Red Lion were rampant against Pace Telecom, winning 6-0. Steve Shaw, Will Armstrong Dave Hulmes and two-goal Eddie Mount all contributed.
Promotion outsiders Bache were hammered 5-1 by Greyhound, Stu Williams scoring their consolation.
Black Dog held second-placed MBNA to a creditable 3-3 draw. Andy Austin, Andy Lightfoot and Carl Jenkins scored for Dog but John Dowdswell, Matty Owen and Andy Cross earned MBNA a point.
