HALTON Borough were caught by two sucker punches in the last four minutes as they chased a win and were beaten by visiting Grappenhall Sports 3-1 in Division One.
The goalless first half had been evenly balanced with both teams having chances - Borough's best effort coming from Paul Withers, who hit an upright.
Borough looked the brighter after the break but fell behind when Grappen-hall broke from defending a free-kick in their own territory.
Borough soon got an equaliser. Withers made a strong run through the middle, beating two players, and when his shot was pushed away Gary Jones was waiting to head in.
Borough pushed more men forward with a view to victory and were hit by two similar breakaway efforts.
The Halton team visit Grappenhall this Saturday for the away fixture and all players are asked to meet at 1.30pm for a 3pm kick off.
