IT was great to see that Kenny Dalglish isn’t the only member of the family with the ability to get under Alex Ferguson’s skin.
His angry reaction to being asked a perfectly valid question by Dalglish’s daughter Kelly Cates on ITV about United’s goalkeeping situation after their draw away to Benfica will have put a smile on Kopites’ faces.
“I don’t know why you ask these questions, you’re just looking for stupid little things,” Ferguson snapped.
The United boss was probably perplexed by the departure from the usual sycophantic questioning he gets on television. And he clearly didn’t want to discuss David de Gea with evidence to suggest he may have bought a £20million dud.
Back in 1988 Dalglish responded to Ferguson’s bleating about refereeing decisions at Anfield by telling reporters they’d get more sense out of his baby daughter Lauren.
It’s good to know that 23 years on the Dalglish family still have the ability to rile him.
