Moore Utd 2 Malpas 1
ABLE to recall himself plus Iain Ramsay, Jack Oakden and Jon Stubbs from injury, fit-again player-boss Robbie McWilliams ensured Malpas put up a gritty fight in their Cheshire League Division Two clash.
Moore dominated possession early on but created nothing until the 15th minute when a cross eluded Tristan Hill in goal to make it 1-0.
Malpas responded immediately with three good chances.
Oakden saw his 25-yard effort hit the crossbar, McWilliams could not keep down a volley and Tom Peak and Malcolm Colley both had good chances from a corner.
After the break, Malpas blasted out of the blocks and within 10 minutes were awarded a penalty after good work from Richard Desmond put through Richard Sadler who was brought down.
Skipper Simon Bradley stepped up and dispatched the penalty to level the scores.
Malpas then spent the next 15 minutes causing Moore problems without taking full advantage.
They were punished for their wastefulness when Moore scored the winner on 70 minutes.
Malpas go to Eagle on Saturday.
