A SPLENDID Adam Davies hat-trick and two well-taken goals from Elliot Seville earned Upton Panthers a 5-1 win at Lache Park in the U10s Cup.
The MoM was George Mecklenburgh who assisted in each Upton goal. Lloyd Smith got the goal for Lache who put up an improved performance against the leaders.
Tattenhall put in a good performance against Saughall to earn a 1-1 draw, leading early in the first half and could have pulled further ahead five minutes later when a penalty was saved by Daniel Youde.
The Colts came out in the second half rejuvenated and Matty Taylor quickly scored to equalise. MoM for the Colts was Simon Rollins with a tireless performance on the right wing.
Blacon Youth had Ashley Luff and Thomas Whitney on target early on and went on to beat Westminster Park Wanderers 2-1. Wanderers responded in the second half with a goal from MoM Adam Joynson. The MoM for Blacon was Ryan Lowe.
Chester Nomads edged ahead of the chasing pack in the middle of the table with a good 6-2 win against Waverton. nIn the U10s Shield Upton Pumas beat Upton Jaguars 1-0 with a goal from Jack Lawson. Their MoM was Luke Diamond.
Blacon Tigers kept pace with Upton Pumas to share the top place by grinding out a 2-1 win against Newton Eagles. Dale McKay scored first for the Tigers with MoM Ryan Chesworth adding a second. Newton responded with a goal from Rhys Owen. MoM for the Eagles was Sean Mooney.
Blacon Lions drew 1-1 with Chester Nomads Wolves, Joel Sweeney their marksman and Arron Evan the MoM.
The Westminster Park derby between the Hornets and the Warriors went to the Hornets by 3-1. Warriors took the lead with a first-half strike from Duaine Meacock, which jolted the Hornets into action and they soon equalised with a goal from Sam Powell.
During the second half the Hornets found the back of the net again with strikes from Scott Cheers and a second from Sam Powell. MoM for the Hornets was Arron Dawelbait and the Warriors' award went to the entire team. nCastrol Athletic were 2-1 winners at Saughall Colts in the U9s Cup, opening the scoring with a goal from MoM Jack Pritchard. Saughall responded with a superb solo goal from MoM Sam Davies who ran the ball the length of the pitch. Jacob Vaughan snatched the goal to give Castrol victory.
Christleton Newscene continued their unbeaten season with another win, beating hard-working Upton Pumas 5-0 with goals from MoM Tom Batten (2), Liam Blake (2) and Richard Tomassen. The Pumas' MoM was Alex Turner.
A strong team performance from Upton Panthers earned an 8-2 win over Westminster Park Lions, including goals from Ben Mawr (3), Jac Newis, Callum Berry and Harrison Vare. The MoM award was shared between Callum Berry and Ben Mawr. The Lions responded with goals from Ben Beadles and Patrick Burke. The MoM was team manager David Smith.
The mid-table clash between Newton Athletic and Chester Nomads ended 1-1 with Calum Graham scoring for the Nomads whose MoM was James Tucker. nWestminster Park needed to win to clinch a place in the of the U9s Shield semi-finals, but it was Tattenhall who triumphed by 2-1. They took the lead with a solo goal from Jonah Birkett, only for the Tigers to bounce back with a goal from James Fowles.
The Tattenhall keeper Kieran Lee put on an inspired display to keep the Tigers at bay making him a worthy recipient of the MoM award. Felix Morris snatched the winner for the visitors in the dying seconds of the game
Waverton also secured their place in the semi-finals with a 9-0 win against Lache Park, Guy Dunbavand netting a double hat-trick.
Castrol Celtic and Upton Jaguars fought out a goalless draw with goal-keepers Alex Pollard and Jack Plesford taking the MoM awards.
Nomad Colts notched up their second win of the competition with an impressive 3-0 win at Upton Bobcats with goals by MoM Bradley Johnson, Ben Charlton and Jonathon Taylor. nWestminster Park gave a great dis-play to beat Newton Athletic 1-0 with a Jack Venables goal in the U8s, while Upton Panthers were 2-1 winners at Westminster Park after Leon Lang-mead's long throw had allowed Jordan Massey to put Park ahead.
A game display from Lache Celtic wasn't enough to contain an in-form Waverton A who won 8-0 including goals from Sam Jones, Michael Pino, Calum Duerdon, Cameron Faulkener, and a hat-trick from Alex Wilkinson. MoM for Waverton was Sebastian Dunn.
The 0-0 scoreline did not do justice to the exciting match played between Castrol Athletic and Chester Nomads.
Castrol Rangers were 6-0 winners at Waverton B with goals for Jack Proud-foot, George Griffin (2), Tyler Carrington (2) and Joe Sloan. The MoM for Rangers was Richard McQuade.
A fine performance from Upton Jaguars was too much for Lache Rangers whose MoM was Nathan Williams.
A brace each for Calum Dow and Elliot Rollins secured a 4-0 win for Saughall Colts and Upton Pumas. MoM for the Colts was Bradley Pope. nAn end-to-end thriller between two talented U7s teams Blacon Badgers and JFC Boughton went to the Badgers by 3-2 with goals from Deri Corfe, Charlie Ward and MoM Harry Kierl. Arron Haddock and MoM Billy Yates netted for Boughton.
An exciting derby game between two evenly matched Westminster Park teams was decided for the Lions by a late Alex Goldsmith goal from a free-kick. Chances fell to James Davies and Harrison Lawson for the Tigers at the other end.
