WISTASTON Village got their Division One promotion hopes back on track with a 27-run win at Radbroke Hall.

They are up into third place after the victory which earned them 20 points. Batting first, the South Cheshire side achieved 238-5, thanks largely to an outstanding 150-stand between Keith Thornhill (88) and Paul Owen (70). Gareth Barnes supported well with a tidy knock of 50.

The target was too much for the hosts who were all out for 218. A brutal 13-over spell from James Hogben yielded five wickets for 67 runs, while Thornhill got a single and James Siddorns a brace.

Also in Division One Aston suffered a two-wicket defeat to visitors Northwich. The hosts batted first and made 231-4 with Richie Pennock (88), Gareth Davies (37) and Derek Wright (30). Northwich won with 232-8 wickets with A Shaw (91) and J O'Sullivan (95), despite Andy Leese's 5-91.

Bunbury were beaten by 97 runs at home to Kingsley. The visitors made first use and posted 237-5 with K Ollier (102) and E Leneghan unbeaten on 51. Bunbury were bowled out for 140 with N McBennett (35).
