CHRISTLETON notched up their second victory of the season on Tuesday when they beat Poynton by seven wickets.
Jenny Halstead and Sara McCann opened the batting for the visitors and the partnership was broken as early as the second delivery when Halstead was clean bowled by acting skipper Dawn Prestidge for a duck.
Gill Spragg (6) joined McCann at the crease and started promisingly before she was bowled by Annette Axon (1-6) in the fifth over. McCann continued to plug away against the Christleton attack before she was eventually stumped, dancing down the wicket to Sally Dobbing (1-9) for 28.
Prestidge returned to complete her overs at the end of the innings and clean-bowled Rushton (0) and Baker (3) to finish with figures of 3-8.
Griffiths (1-11), Clarke and Dobbing had pushed the score on to 48 when Clarke holed out to Halstead off the bowling of Spragg (1-23).
Friend was next in to bat but soon returned to the pavilion, bowled by Rushton (1-11). Axon (8no) joined Christleton's player-of-the-match Sally Dobbing (8no) in the middle and the pair eased the home side to victory in the 14th over.
Crewe 110-3 off 20 overs, Christleton 111-2 off 14 overs. Christleton had made a great start to the season against a strong Crewe side last week. They were given a target of 110 off 20 overs and got home with six overs to sparee (Kath Bond 39no, Lauren Grtiffiths 52no).
Christleton's next match is at Brooklands on Sunday, May 30.
