CHESTER Boughton Hall 2nds chalked up a mammoth 128-run victory in the league at Oxton.

Bob Evans (36), George Robinson (30), Max Temple (32) Jay Alfridi (37) and Andy Pembroke (27) all chipped in as the visitors posted 185.

Dan Riley’s excellent season continued as he took 5-14 from 10 overs as Oxton were all out for 57.

Hall made it two wins from two over the weekend by knocking Heaton Mersey 2nd XI out of the AE Taylor Trophy on Sunday. Riley (3-25) and James Hughes (40) made telling contributions as the Filkins Lane hosts booked their quarter-final berth.

A mixed performance saw Boughton Hall 3rds scrape home at Macclesfield.

The hosts posted 183 (Delat Gulzar 4-42) and Boughton Hall reached their target with two overs to spare, their last pair knocking off the last 10 runs. Andy Forrest starred with 53.

Hall’s fourth team fought out a high-scoring draw with Oxton at Filkins Lane.

Oxton amassed 263-4 before Sharie Wentzel (32) and Martin Lamb (32) helped the hosts reach 209-8.

MALPAS 2nds were thrashed by BARROW, who recovered from 17-4 to post a target of 166-9 (Paul Wise 58, Martin Punnet 3-46, Dan Williams 2-24, Henry Wilson-Theaker 2-57).

Malpas lost two wickets in the first seven balls and only Wilson-Theaker (19) and Williams (14) got into double figures as they were skittled for 72.

OAKMERE 2nds were frustrated by Ashley’s ninth-wicket pair at Overdale Lane.

Dan Wood hit 54 and Peter Jones 39 and at one time Oakmere looked set for a big total.

Their 163-7 would have been enough, but Ashley held out at 95-8 (Eddie Gibson 4-20).
