BRAMHALL and Cheadle became the first clubs in the Murray Smith Accountants Cheshire County League to register three victories, when they beat Warrington and Alsager respectively in Division One.

Bramhall despatched Warrington to the foot of the table by a seven wickets margin after restricting the Walton Lea side to 159-9, Mal Agar 28, Simon Wilkinson 4-52. In-form Mike Bolger (67) top-scored in Bramhall's 160-3 which was compiled inside 32 overs after tea.

A magnificent 14 overs return of 8-33 by newcomer Neil Witherson helped Cheadle win by nine wickets at Alsager, who have themselves started the season well. Alsager mustered only 163-9 and Cheadle knocked the runs off at 164-1 in the 30th over, Paul Slattery 85, Simon Hall 50.

Relegated Didsbury continued their revival with an impressive batting display to overhaul Macclesfield's 226-5, Simon Bohasca 85 at Wilmslow Road. With Dan Pugsley scoring 75, Mike Fisher 68 and skipper Stuart Stoneman 55 not out, Dids-bury breezed home by six wickets, Ian Tate 3-66.

There was a level-scores draw in the keenly-contested Winnington Park - Heaton Mersey game after Park had declared at 227-8, Aussie Aiden Baker 72. Mersey claimed the 18 tie points with a response of 227-9 led by a fine 119 from Nick Cantello, while James Cowell steadied the home boat with 4-47.

Upton won their first game, by the tight margin of 13 runs at Cheadle Hulme, where only skipper Ewan McCray is currently finding any form. Mark Rowlands hit 86 in Upton's 166-9, McCray 5-56, after which the Grove Park men were bowled out for 153, McCray 41, Ian Linwood 5-31.

Birkenhead Park finished 17-12 points to the good in a fine game at Urmston posting 225-9; Simon Potter 72, Ian Cooper 54, Curt Edginton 5-48. Urmston's last pair held out at 214-9; Mike Ness 52, while Chris Stenhouse took 4-46.

Burnage registered their maiden Second Division victory by 57 runs at home to Brebury. Burnage scored 248, J Jamshed 58, M Kamran 56 after which Bredbury were sent back for 191, M Sands 51, S Baig 4-40.

Timperley kept the lead with a 105 runs home win against Tattenhall after declaring at 206-6, Colin Byrne 54. Tattenhall were all out for 101.

Irby moved up to second place with a nine wickets home win over Middlewich, who drop to the foot of the table. Middlewich managed only 121, Ian Hemsworth 5-35, Chris Gibson 4-14 after which Mike Newman then took the Middlewich attack apart with an unbeaten 97 out of 125-1.

Bollington regisdered their first win, by 95 runs at home to Brooklands.

Mobberley beat Sale by five wickets after their visitors had declared at 224-9, Ian Metcalfe 62, Jamil Nasir 4-85. Nasir, 81 and skipper Stuart Blackburn 77.

Grappenhall played a fourth successive draw at home to Congleton after declaring at 197-9, Richard Green 74, Rob Porter 4-38. Skipper Porter's unbeaten 72 enabled Congleton to reach 175-4.
