CHESTER Boughton Hall Ladies eased into the Twenty20 Cup final on Tuesday – keeping their hopes of a treble alight.
Visitors Trafford batted first and were a wicket down as early as the second over when skipper Ali Cutler clean bowled Loren (0) with the first delivery of a superb four-over spell.
Promising off-spinner Victoria Latham took 2-12 courtesy of wicketkeeper Lauren Griffiths, who completed a hat-trick of stumpings. Cutler (2-6) was the pick of the bowlers, while Suzi Walker (1-22), Nicky Deane (1-6) and Annette Axon (0-20) completed the attack as Trafford closed on 76-7 off 20 overs.
Chester openers Cutler and Latham set off at a blistering pace before Cutler (10) was bowled in the first over.
But they reached their target safely, notching up 78-4 with eight overs to spare. Griffiths (23no), Latham (14) and Walker (14) were among the runs.
