CHOLMONDELEY'S slide down the Meller Braggins Division One continued after a nine-wicket defeat by Marple on Saturday.
Cholmondeley lost the toss and were asked to bat, scoring 205-7 with Pat Taylor scoring 49, the in-form James Cooke 39 and Russ Walker 34.
In perfect batting conditions, a par score of 230 was on the cards but Cholmondeley were unable to achieve it due to ex-Cheshire bowler Andy Greasley bowling 1-58 in 19 overs.
In reply, Cholmondeley were unable to stem the flow of runs with Crissall scoring 79 and Pearson and Marshall each scoring 54 not out to take Marple to 206-1 in the 40th over.
Next week Cholmondeley are away against Runcorn.
In Division Three, struggling Holmes Chapel suffered another defeat at the hands of Lindow who took home 24 points after scoring 172-5.
A 168-8 declared scoreline was not enough for Chapel, who are still in search of that elusive first win.
