AUSSIE ace Steve Paulsen was the man of the match in Nantwich's six-wicket home win over bottom side Bramhall in the CD Bramall Trucks ECB Premier League on Saturday.
The outstanding Queensland all-rounder took 6-64 to restrict Bramhall to 206-9 and their main batsman Nick Cantello to 62 and Andy Hall to 51.
He then picked 95 off a labouring attack, enjoying a part-nership of 150 with Jeff Maynard, who recorded a score of 80 not out. Paulsen's score included 12 fours and four sixes while Maynard notched 10 fours and two sixes.
The win keeps the Dabbers just below mid-table.
In Division One, Alsager succumbed to Cheadle Hulme's first win of the season at Grove Park.
The five-wicket defeat leaves Alsager just below mid-table. Hulme's Richard Battye (70) steered them home after Ashwin Punja (83) had helped Alsager declare on 219-9.
Week seven of the Crewe and Nantwich Midweek League saw a return of the Champions League Cup competition.
In an 18-over match at Betley, Bombardier scored an impressive 197-4, with D Watson posting an unbeaten 96, supported by M Heywood's 37. After both the Imperial openers fell, N Wild-man (16), S Evans (38), runs evaporated and D Scott (4-24) helped ensure a convincing 107-run victory.
DS & TE posted 69-9 (M Tagg 4-14) but an unbeaten 39 by P Prestwich saw Bourne home at 71-3.
Batting first against OCB, Deliveries scored 146-3 with openers D Zidek making 26 and A Piggott an unbeaten 57.
OCB made a disastrous start in reply and even a late flurry by D Shaw (36) and R Denton (42) could not rescue the game as the innings closed on 111-8.
