THE dates for Cheshire Phoenix’s BBL Trophy semi-final showdown with Glasgow Rocks have been announced.

The Nix will take on the Scottish side in the two-legged tie at  the Northgate Arena on Sunday, March 9 (5.30pm) before heading north of the border for  the second-leg at Rocks’ Emirates Arena home on Friday, March 14 (7.30pm).

The winner will be returning to Scotland’s second city to take to the Emirates Arena court once more in the BBL Trophy final on Sunday, March 30 (3.15pm).

The Nix passage to the semi-finals has seen them overcome the Leicester Riders and the Bristol Academy Flyers en route to the last four.

The home game against the Rocks replaces the scheduled BBL game between the two sides that was due to take place on the same day, with the league fixture to be rearranged.

Nix chairman Andrew Donaldson said: “I’m delighted with the draw as I think it gives us a real chance of making the final.

“The games against Glasgow will be tough but the guys have been playing so well recently that they will be full of confidence and will be wanting to put on a show for the lads.

“It would be amazing for the fans if we could make the final and hopefully they will turn out in force to cheer the team on at the Northgate on March 9.”
