SO we play Plymouth Raiders in the play-offs this weekend and it is an all-or-nothing double-header.
For me it’s not been a great season as it has finished disappointingly.
There’s been some highlights and I’ve enjoyed working with the guys, but we still have an empty trophy cabinet and this is our one chance to put it right.
Everything goes into this. No focus, no saving yourself for the league or this or that, it’s the only thing left.
Three weekends, five games, last man standing so we pour ourselves into it - all or nothing.
We’re coming into the play-offs in patchy form and to be fair for a couple of weeks now we haven’t had the same level of motivation, we dropped off when we lost the title push and then we’ve been waiting for the play-offs.
But it’s how you react. I think we can explode forward now and rediscover our form.
Whether or not a loss affects us it’s about the reaction and I'll do everything in my powers to make sure the reaction to last weekend’s defeats is a good one.
Being back-to-back and over two legs throws up some interesting scenarios.
We’ve done it before and there’s talk of strategies, going to keep it close, holding a bit back for the second leg and there’ll probably be a little bit of that but really it's about discovering our defensive form.
If we can get some stops we can do well. I hope we are a very different side to the side which faced Plymouth a few weeks ago.
We’ll be more determined and very focused and we need to be, we have a great amount of respect for the Raiders as a team but we expect to win a trophy this season and we haven’t so we’ve got to go for it.
