Jets 82 Leicester Riders 81
THERE was a nail-biting finish to Jets’ warm-up clash with the Riders at the Northgate on Sunday.
The match drew together two sides that almost went out of business over the summer – and proved to be an exciting affair.
Jets fielded all their summer signings, apart from Chris Brown who was still waiting for his work permit.
TJ Walker’s men led for the majority of the contest but fell behind for a spell in the fourth quarter. With only 15 seconds remaining, Alan Duppa – a recent capture from Newi Nets – put Jets 82-81 up. Riders swept to the other end of the court but a superb piece of defensive play by James Hamilton prevented them from retaking the lead.
