TCS Chester Jets tip-off their biggest week of the season on Sunday at the Northgate Arena as they face old foes Sheffield Sharks (5.30pm).
The game comes just six days ahead of Paul Smith's side's trip to the Steel City to face Brighton Bears in the BBL Trophy final.
Both teams go into Sunday's clash in unusual circumstances, each suffering a pair of defeats in recent weeks, but Smith sees the encounter as the perfect opportunity to banish the blues of last week's crushing home loss against Scottish Rocks.
He said: 'It's just about the best game we could have had on the back of such a poor display. I know that the players will be up for it, the crowd will be up for it and I'll be up for it.
Both teams are desperate for a win and games against Sheffield are always an excellent occasion to be part of.
'There's a lot of pride at stake as we're 2-0 down to Sheffield in the league head-to-head and we don't want to lose that to them, although we've beaten them twice in the trophy.'
Meanwhile, centre Calvin Davis will continue to play with his injured left hand strapped.
X-rays confirmed that the big Texan had fractured a bone and he sat out the trip to Brighton a fortnight ago, before returning for the Rocks game last Sunday.
Smith said: 'It's not bothering him when he plays. The big problem was that Calvin missed a week's training leading up to our match against the Rocks, but I thought that he was one of our better performers on the night.'
