TWO of Jets’ junior sides have reached the semi-finals of the National League.

The under 14 boys and U14 girls netted victories to reach the ‘Final Fours’ at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

More than 250 people witnessed the U14s’ wins at The Hub, Ellesmere Port, at the weekend which included the boys’ 81-52 victory over Northants and the girls’ hard-fought 55-47 win against Herefordshire Warriors.

U14s coach Mike Halpin said: “This has been achieved on the back of an outstanding season seeing the team not lose one single game throughout and in many cases beating the opposition by 100 points and more.

“Excellent coaching from assistant Andy Mackay and dedication from each player to training and 100% commitment on match days has proved to be the key to success.”

U14 girls coach Phil Wilson added: “Reaching the National finals for the second year in succession is testimony to the girls hard work, dedication and team spirit.”

The U18s and U16 girls unfortunately lost their quarter-final clashes.

The U18s went down 101-53 to Reading Rockets while the girls lost 69-35 to Eastside Eagles.
