NESTON Community and Youth Centre has extended the closing date for its competition to rename the £1m multi-use facility.

Centre manager Helen Barrie said the new date of Friday, May 28, would give anybody who missed the original announcement the opportunity to take part.

“As we are a community centre offering something for everyone in the CH64 area, I felt it better to add on a little more time to allow everyone to submit an entry, just in case.

“I’ve been delighted with the entries that have come in so far but you can never have too many.”

Neston Community and Youth Centre in Burton Road offers a wide array of facilities and classes, ranging from belly dancing and flower arranging to a youth club and corporate meeting rooms.

As the current name is a bit long, the competition is looking to find something a bit snappier that reflects the centre’s services and facilities and its place in the Neston community.

The winner will receive a £100 cash prize with the first runner-up winning an MP4 player.

There is a selection of other prizes up for grabs including free room hire at the centre for a child’s birthday party.

The competition is open to all ages and there is no limit to the number of entries each person can send in. The judging panel’s decision is final.

Entries should be sent to Helen Barrie at the centre by emailing or by dropping your entry off at the centre marked Competition Entry.
